Handling of Personal Information
Yappli, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") handles personal information obtained by the Company as follows.
1. Purpose of Use
The Company will use personal information within the scope of the following purposes.

Personal information concerning the Company’s business partners (or their officers and employees in the case of corporate clients) of the Company’s services for businesses.
- To make necessary business contacts, execute transactions, provide related after-sales services, and manage business partners' information.
- For sales and marketing activities, such as advertising and providing information on products, services, campaigns, etc., by means of invitation letters, e-mails, etc., for the Company’s products and services.
- To respond to requests for information materials, trial versions, and other inquiries.
- To improve the Company’s products and services and to consider new services.
- To survey and analyze the use of the Company’s products and services.
- To investigate, identify, and prevent fraud, cyber attacks, and other illegal activities.

Personal information concerning participants in seminars and other events (in the case of corporate participants, their officers and employees).
- To conduct seminars and other events and to manage attendee information.
- To be used for sales and marketing activities, such as advertising and providing information on products, services, campaigns, etc. via invitation letters, e-mails, etc., regarding the Company’s products and services.
- To respond to inquiries from attendees.
- To provide personal information to entities that conduct seminars jointly with the Company, to conduct seminars, to manage attendee information, and to respond to inquiries from attendees.

Personal information about customers who use the Company’s personalized services.
- To provide customers with the most suitable services.
- To respond to inquiries from customers.
- To use for sales and marketing activities, such as advertising and providing information on the Company’s products, services, campaigns, etc., by means of invitations, e-mails, etc., for the Company’s products and services.
- To improve the Company’s services and to consider new services, etc.
- To survey and analyze the use of the Company’s services.
- To investigate, identify, and prevent fraud, cyber attacks, and other illegal activities.
- To use for other purposes as notified or announced for individual services.
Note: The Company may use the TrueDepth API provided by Apple Inc. to obtain information about your facial expressions. The acquired information will be used only for real-time facial expression tracking to the extent necessary to provide the functions of the Company’s services, and this information will not be stored on the Company’s servers or provided to third parties.
Personal information concerning employees and retirees.
- For necessary business communications, payment of compensation, provision of benefits, health management, and other employment and personnel management.
Personal information of applicants for employment.
- To contact applicants regarding selection and hiring decisions, and for other uses necessary for the Company's recruitment activities and preparations for acceptance into the Company when a decision is made to hire a new employee.
2. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
The Company will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual, except in the following cases.
- When the Company receives a court ruling or order to disclose personal information in accordance with laws and regulations, or when the Company receives an official inquiry from a public agency such as the police, based on laws and regulations that provide investigative authority.
- When disclosure is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual.
- When it is especially necessary to improve public health or to promote the sound growth of children, and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the customer.
- Cases in which the handling of personal information is necessary for cooperating with a national agency, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either a national agency or local government to execute affairs prescribed by law, and in which obtaining the customer's consent is likely to impede the execution of the relevant affairs.
- Other cases permitted under the Personal Information Protection Law.
3. Outsourcing the Handling of Personal Information

When the Company outsources the handling of personal information.
The Company may outsource all or part of the Company’s business to third parties outside of Japan (including cloud service providers located outside of Japan) to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use, and the Company may outsource the handling of personal information to such third parties to the extent necessary. In such cases, the Company may outsource the handling of personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In such cases, the Company will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision over the relevant consignee.

When the Company is entrusted.
The Company may be entrusted with the handling of personal information held by the Company’s business partners to the extent necessary to provide the Company’s services to them. In such cases, the Company will handle the entrusted personal information only to the extent necessary to perform the entrusted work, and will not use the information beyond the extent necessary to perform the relevant work.
4. Measures to be taken for security control
The Company will take necessary and appropriate security control measures to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information. Please also refer to the "Information Security Policy" separately stipulated by the Company for more information on the security control measures taken by the Company.
5. Voluntary Provision of Personal Information
When customers provide personal information to the Company for use of the Company’s services, the provision of personal information is voluntary and is not forced by the Company.
However, please understand that the Company may not be able to provide you with appropriate services if you do not provide the Company with the necessary information.
6. Use of Access Logs and Cookies

The Company collects access logs as analytical information for the purpose of improving convenience and service quality for customers accessing the Company’s website. However, information that can identify individual customers, such as names and addresses, is not included.

The Company may send cookies to the web browsers of customers who access the Company’s website. Cookies are used to provide efficient services to repeat visitors, but they do not collect personally identifiable information. If you do not wish to accept cookies, you can do so by changing your browser settings.
7. Location Information
Yappli Port, an app provided by the Company, may acquire location information of the device using the app. The location information obtained by the Company may be used to deliver location-based content (e.g., but not limited to, push notifications of area-specific information), and to provide other functions of "Yappli Port". The information will be used within the scope necessary to provide other "Yappli Port" functions.
8. Requests for Disclosure, etc. of Personal Information

If you request the Company to notify you of the purpose of use, disclose, correct, add, delete, stop using, erase, or stop providing to a third party, or disclose records of when the Company provided to a third party (hereinafter referred to as "disclosure, etc."), the personal data in the Company’s possession, the Company will conduct an internal investigation of the personal information and respond to your request without delay.
Note: However, depending on the nature of the request, the Company may not be able to respond to the disclosure, etc. In such cases, the Company will respond with the reason.

When making a request for disclosure, etc., please follow the procedure below and send your request by mail. Please note that the Company may not be able to accept your request if there are any deficiencies or shortcomings in the details of your request. For each request for disclosure of personal information or notification of purpose of use, an administrative fee of 1080 yen will be charged in the form of postage stamps.
Personal information provided on the "Application for Disclosure of Personal Information" form will only be used to respond to inquiries and will not be used for any other purpose.

If the person making the request for disclosure, etc. is a legal representative or a representative authorized by the person in question, please enclose the following documents in addition to the documents listed in the preceding paragraph.

- A copy of a family register, or in the case of a person with parental authority, a copy of a health insurance card with dependents' names filled in is acceptable.
- Documents to verify the identity of the legal representative.
- A copy of a document such as a driver's license, passport, or health insurance card that verifies the name and current address of the representative.
